Strawberry Laces Fine Art Poster/print

Defineing the British sweet : Strawberry laces came from a punnet of Juicy strawberrys bought at the local market and some shoe laces I had in my studio !! add a sprinkle of sugar and the shutter fell on the photo shoot on my table . all this Just for fun, I like to define words in pictures. I was shooting a set of Espaliered pears I had picked from a 300-year-old tree in the garden where I live for a still life piece. As I began working with the pears, I noticed one of the photos looked like a pair falling. At that very moment, my partner offered me something sweet it happened to be a pear drop. This coincidence sent me on a nostalgic journey, exploring my childhood sweets. I discovered that only four of these could be shot as a montage, serving as a homage to the treats I enjoyed on my way to school in the 1970s and 80s. I believe they’re still available in shops today. These pictures were shot on my home table using only my camera’s torch and a mirror. I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot, savouring each sweet as I went. Lemons went in the tonic! Strawberries with cream. Liquorice and sherbet. Pear Drops. Rhubarb and custard. All utterly delicious just like the images I’ve created for your enjoyment.
